Willow Starcom’s recommended installation of Tandberg Data’s StorageLibrary™ was proposed to the College to achieve automated daily backups of the colleges’ essential data which is doubling year on year.
Previous backups would take over 24 hours or would abort mid-job critically exposing both college and students.
Using the Willow Starcom/Tandberg Data combination has meant that Cardinal Newman’s daily backups are now totally automated and reliable and occur within a six hour timeframe. Similarly, in terms of throughput, what used to be achieved in minutes is now achieved in seconds. Willow Starcom specified the whole solution with cost and space saving in mind, so the StorageLibrary carries a very favourable price tag/functionality set together with a small form factor – valuable when space is at a premium.
